This is designed to follow on from the Christmas Photo Quiz, where the answers were the usernames of some ZooChatters. I thought that it might be fun to make a crossword using the names of some other ZooChatters.
Unfortunately the formatting is too complicated to insert it into this thread, so I have uploaded a pdf file of the grid and the clues into our Resources area here.
You will have to download this file (which has been virus checked) and I recommend that you print it out. The grid should print on one A4 sheet and the clues on a second.
There are 43 answers, including one simple anagram and a couple of abbreviations. Of course I have not been able to include any usernames that contain numbers or ones for which I could not think of a clue (my apologies to jbnbsn99 and many others).
Anyone who completes the crossword can post the list of answers in this thread. Otherwise I will post the complete list in the New Year.
Remember that it's just a bit of fun, so don't overstrain your brain :)

I have far too much time on my hands, and enjoy crosswords far too much :p as such I will send a PM with my proposed answers so that everyone else has time to guess.

I'm three answers away from completing it. Only problem is I've been three answers away for about 45 minutes! :p

One wonders whether you are stuck on the same three which got me stumped for a while :p in total it took me 82 minutes to complete the crossword.

KevinVar has now submitted a complete and correct set of answers. My congratulations to him and I'm sorry that his username was not one of answers.

I didn't have any internet this morning, so I spent some time doing the crossword. It took me 2.15 hours. I got a bit stuck on several - some of the very English ones were tricky for me - but I got through it in the end.

I'll send @gentle lemur my answers some time soon so he can check them.

Chlidonias' answers were correct of course. I did my best to avoid very English clues, but one or two were too tempting to leave out. The nice thing about ZooChatters is that they come from so many parts of the world and choose such a variety of usernames that it was was not too hard to include quite a wide range of geography, biology and other languages in the clues.

The language skills of Dutch people have always impressed me (just pronouncing Dutch words must surely be a major achievement ). On the other hand many of my ancestors came from County Durham, so I can only say 'Haway the lads!'
