    2015 Timeline
    1. January: Kamina, the abandoned baby gorilla from the Oklahoma City Zoo is brought over to Cincinnati in hopes to find a surrogate - later fails in the process. Kamina is then sent to the Columbus Zoo where she still resides. --- Imara, an African Painted Dog, gives birth to 10 healhty pups. --- It was announced that two eastern bongo calves were born to two different mothers in the last months of 2014. The zoo has now had 40 bongo births since 1978.
    2. February: John, the African lion, is finally introduced to his three daughters.
    3. March: Two Lesser Kudu, a new species to the zoo, debuts in the Africa hoofstock/bird savanna. --- The lion cubs are set in the outdoor exhibit for the first time. --- Zanga, a bonobo gives birth to a boy that was later named Bolingo. He was the tenth bonobo to be born at the zoo.
    4. April: It was confirmed and announced that Harapan would leave the zoo later in 2015. --- Bolingo, the baby bonobo, makes his debut. --- The African painted dog pups are let outside for the first time. --- Sunshine, the zoo's remaining white lion male, passes away. --- A new silverback gorilla named Harambe makes his debut with Chewie and Mara. --- Spur-winged Lapwings, a new species, make their debut in Wings of the World and Jungle Trails.
    5. May: Meerkats make their debut in Africa. This was the first time meerkats were on display at the zoo since 2011 in the Cat House. --- The zoo releases an anonymous ultrasound of one of their animals. --- It is later announced that the ultrasound came from the womb of Anju, a female gorilla would give birth for the first time around Labor Day. --- Kenyan Crested Guineafowl make their debut in Africa. --- Brahma, the male African Painted Dog and the new father of 10, dies of some sort of abdominal infection.
    6. June: The zoo releases 50 critically endangered American Burying Beetles into the wild.
    7. July: Spectacled Owls, a newly displayed species, makes their debut in Night Hunters. --- Dale, a Sichuan Takin, is born in June and immediately abandoned by his mother. He made is debut in the Children's Zoo nursery. --- A Red-tailed Cockatoo and a Chestnut-breasted Malkoha make their debut in Jungle Trails. --- Kifaru, a male Black Rhinoceros from the Zoo Atlanta, arrives in hopes to breed with Seyia. --- Two red panda cubs Kelli and Dr. Erin Curry, born from two different mothers, make their debut.
    8. August: It is announced that Henry, a male Hippopotamus from the Dickerson Park Zoo will be moving to the zoo in preparation for the final phase of Africa. --- Anju, the gorilla, gave birth to a female on August 28th. The baby was later named Elle.
    9. September: The zoo announces their plan to renovate and expand their gorilla exhibit to turn it into a full indoor habitat/atrium by Summer 2017. --- PETA spreads a lie entailing the AZA threatened to take away the Cincinnati Zoo's accreditation if their "abusive elephant care" did not stop.
    10. October: Abigail, one of the zoo's rescued manatees, is sent back into the wild after rehabilitation. --- Capone, the zoo's Alligator Snapping Turtle, passes away. --- The okapi/duiker exhibit is expanded --- Another rescued manatee, Bam-Bam, makes his debut in Manatee Springs --- October 29th is the last day for guests to view Harapan for the last time.
    11. November: Harapan arrives safely in Sumatra --- Dale, the takin, is reunited with his mother
    12. December: Kifaru and Seyia, the black rhinos, are together in the outdoor yard for the first time. --- 2 Little Penguins hatch
