    Great to see this little calf gaining life at such a strong pace after an such early birth. And kudos too for the cinnci zoo staff for not only providing such good care, but also on the fact that this is the first hippo baby in 65 years! So premature or not, the birth is worth celebration.

    In Manatee Springs, both the Snapping turtles have been removed. The Piranhas from the Invaders exhibit, along with some cichlids, have replaced them. Now that remains in the Invaders tanks are some cichlids and a basilisk.

    Cinta, the zoo's female Malayan Tiger had three cubs born Feb. 3

    The cubs were pulled and are being cared for in the nursery after Cinta's maternal instincts did not kick in

    This zoo staff is definitely working around the clock. Are there any other births in the near future? Isn't the black rhino later in the year?
