That's awful news! Manjula really gave me an appreciation for Indian Rhinoceros during my trip to Cincinnati.

So many iconic animals have passed at the Cincinnati Zoo this year...truly saddening...it's a lot to hear, considering I haven't gotten any alerts from this thread, despite having had it watched since it was made...

    R.I.P.

Sad, she has been without any offspring.
(I am not saying anything else out of respect, but I have my own perspective on it - let us say that -)

The zoo has introduced Lake Titicaca Frogs into an exhibit (I think in the reptile house, not sure).

Sorry, I don’t know what you mean by these decimal points. Can you please give me the exact numbers of how many of each penguin species the zoo keeps?

The number in the left side 1.0 represents the number of males.
The number on the right side 0.1 represents the number of females.

If there is a third digit (0.0.1) then it shows how many of an unknown/unassessed gender there is.

    Interesting numbers.

I assume that the little blue penguin are a core breeding group. Not sure about either the African or Antarctic species (for most way too few in number). Why Magellanic and African black-footed?

I know one pair of the king penguins have had chicks before. Not sure about the other penguins.
