Surabaya Zoo Civet identification in Surabaya zoo

    Hi everybody!
    When I was in Surabaya zoo in 2006, I took picture of these civets in the Nocturama.
    They were labelled as Paradoxurus hermaphroditus but their color is really not matching...
    Do you think it's a special color morph? a subspecie? or even another specie like Sulawesi giant palm civet (Macrogalidia musschenbroeki) ?

    To me it looks like a normal Paguma larvata (color is variable). Just very overweight. Macrogalidia is very different and Paradoxurus has some spots and stripes.
