We are having our students design a zoo (a sneaky way to teach math concepts). We have searched high and low for statistics on the amount of area needed by various animals and come up high and dry. Please help!

If you look on the AZA website, they have handbooks on certain species of animals like otters, polar bears, and condors. Within the care manuals, they have the minimum size of space needed for the species.

    Website:
Association of Zoos and Aquariums - Animal Care Manuals

    Hope this helps! :)
