Due to time constraints, I templated this list off of a list from a previous visit in 2021. But I edited the list to make sure that it was accurate to 2022, of course. However, exhibits that were closed during my visit (such as the aviaries) are marked here, yet I am not sure if the signage or presence of said species remains. If anyone is interested in the other list, I've linked the document here.

Is the list for the Migratory Bird Aviary from the signs or did you ID the species yourself?

The list is from the signs! Now to my knowledge, species such as Sora are indeed gone from the aviary, so the signage definitely isn't 100% up to date, but I'd say if you look at the linked document from my 2021 visit, what I saw would be a somewhat whole representation of what's in the aviary. :)

EDIT: And just to make it easier, the list of aviary birds is highlighted in the Google Doc.

sora are actually still there. I would know as I recently visited the columbus zoo in September of this year and I saw one in the aviary. I even have a photo of it: upload_2022-9-28_17-11-36.jpeg

Does anyone have a 2023 update of this list? Well done species list by the way! Also, are there no longer Siberian Musk Deer?

Do you know the history of the Kodiak Bear? Is that a pure individual or not?

According to this article they are pure orphan rescues from Alaska. Here they say they are "Kodiak (or Alaskan) Brown Bears".

Interesting. That makes Columbus one of only three holders of pure Kodiak Bear in the US.

The jackals have been gone for quite some time now, but yes, the hyenas are only visible on rotation in the watering hole habitat.
