Indonesia's most famous crocodile would be Kojek. It was a Saltwater crocodile kept by a villager in Sempur, Bogor (not far from Taman Safari) that was almost a meter long. It was rather obese and lethargic since it was fed by its owner every time. Around 2017, Kojek was evacuated by forestry officials and Taman Safari staff, and since then, Kojek is a permanent resident in Taman Safari's crocodile exhibit. Thanks for the listing. Out of interest: Is it for certain that all New Guinea crocodile are the species Crocodylus novaeguineae (not too long ago it was determined the island really has 2 species, the other being C. halli)? Could it be that the zoo in Bukittinggi, Sumbar maintained both Crocodylus porosus and Tomistoma schlegelii (I seem to remember that when visiting in 2018).
Crocodylus halli hasn't been exhibited in Indonesian zoos yet. If it did, it could be misidentified as Crocodylus novaeguineae.
Also Crocodylus siamensis hasn't been exhibited in Indonesian zoos yet, but some private reptile keepers owns it. They're mostly farmed individuals from Thailand.
A website called Pierre Wildlife labelled one of the crocodile at the Ragunan Zoo gallery as a crocodylus halli
Rimba Reptile Park in Bali keep saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus), West African slender-snouted crocodile (Mecistops cataphractus), dwarf crocodile (Osteolaemus tetraspis), spectacled caiman (Caiman crocodilus), and false gharial (Tomistoma schlegelii)
In the Gembira Loka Zoo gallery, three crocodiles labelled as a Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus), freshwater crocodile (Crocodylus johnsoni), and Indian gharial (Gavialis gangeticus). I'm skeptical about it. Nike croccodile enclosure - ZooChat Fresh water croccodile enclosure - ZooChat Gharial, Gavialis gangeticus - ZooChat
1. Most members of the genus Crocodylia are pretty identical to each other, making it hard to ID 2. I'm pretty sure that Gharial is a False Gharial
I would agree: buaya senyulong - habitat: hewan ini tersebar di perairan dan lahan gambut Sumatera, dan Kalimantan. Link: Gembira Loka Zoo
