Red Siskins being bred with canaries to pass on the red color genes has put the siskin under severe threat... I do have issue with that.

The variety of hybrid macaws produces a variety of color, but not sure I like the concept.

I think that hybrid macaws are pretty, but tbh I like hybrid animals, but only when it doesn’t harm one of the animals or isn’t mass produced, as that can really hurt bloodlines.

Are the natural colours not pretty enough? What would you do with a hybrid animal? Surely they have no purpose, except possibly the result of proving systematic relationships?

Natural colors are pretty enough, but if it happens and I get a hybrid, I would keep it as if it were any other bird. In other words, what I mean to say is that I don’t encourage keeping hybrids as if its a normal thing, so you have to understand it’s a hybrid. But I don’t hate hybrids, I don’t shame those who breed them or anything.

I agree that if you do get a cross bred or hybrid then there is no reason not to keep it; many are really nice to look at and there is no shame implied. I just don't think it is a good thing do deliberately.
