Apologies if this is old news. I have searched and can't find it mentioned anywhere Hamilton Zoo now has a female Cape Porcupine on display. Her name is Ingozi (Born May 2017). I'm assuming she's from Monarto unless they've (quietly) done a fresh import from Europe/USA. Hamilton are also receiving 4.0 Nyala from Auckland today Cape Porcupine
Brooklands Zoo now have Capybara. They received 2.0 (named Luis Suarez and Fernando) from Auckland Zoo: Rodent giants latest addition to Brooklands Zoo line-up
According to this link, Orana Wildlife Park now hold both species of porcupine. The zoo recently received a pair of Cape Porcupine. Orana Wildlife Park :: Porcupine Fun
That's interesting. I'm going to guess that they are the ones from Wellington Zoo. The other option of course is that they imported a pair but that seems unlikely. The ones at Wellington haven't been on display for a very long time, and all the signage was removed as well. I was assuming they were still just off-show for some reason (they were still present off-show until at least a couple of months ago I think) - but I just had a look at their website and they no longer include them amongst their animals.
I just received a response back from Orana Wildlife Park. The porcupines did indeed come from Wellington Zoo. Originally the male (Lawrence) was imported from the UK and the female (Snickers) from the US.
