That's sad too - like the Bobcat, the last one in Australasia!

    When did she die?

Willowbank (in Christchurch) received four male Capybara last week, which had been bred at Auckland Zoo.

Apologies if this is old news. I have searched and can't find it mentioned anywhere

Hamilton Zoo now has a female Cape Porcupine on display. Her name is Ingozi (Born May 2017). I'm assuming she's from Monarto unless they've (quietly) done a fresh import from Europe/USA.

Hamilton are also receiving 4.0 Nyala from Auckland today

Might be one of the females from Wellington.

According to this link, Orana Wildlife Park now hold both species of porcupine. The zoo recently received a pair of Cape Porcupine.

That's interesting. I'm going to guess that they are the ones from Wellington Zoo. The other option of course is that they imported a pair but that seems unlikely.

The ones at Wellington haven't been on display for a very long time, and all the signage was removed as well. I was assuming they were still just off-show for some reason (they were still present off-show until at least a couple of months ago I think) - but I just had a look at their website and they no longer include them amongst their animals.

Do you have any idea where they came from?

I just received a response back from Orana Wildlife Park. The porcupines did indeed come from Wellington Zoo. Originally the male (Lawrence) was imported from the UK and the female (Snickers) from the US.
