I'd hardly call one post 'a load of hype' and from the zoo's pov it will hopefully be a way to make a little bit of money.

I get that about making some much needed income and good for them, my point was about the big build up to it. Personally it was a bit of a let down but I'm NOT condoning what they're doing just was expecting more.

I’m pleased for them. It doesn’t appear to have a net above it, yet, but there are two main posts. Maybe they’ll add some hornbills & Turacos or the like once settled and planting embeds?

Another new development, a small shelter house has been created in the former grivet/crane enclosure. Mesh and posts have been removed/replaced in places too.

Just got home from a lovely day at Dartmoor. Was nice to see the place is constantly changing and improving!

The new aviary is looking great, will be even better when the plants mature. Not many species in there yet but still a great addition.

The reptile and bug house is improving all the time and after talking to some of the staff and volunteers more will be added in the future.

Also I was lucky enough to be at the zoo when animals were being released in to the revamped old Grivet/vervet enclosure. There are now agouti and the pair of female red handed tamarins in this enclosure with a new additional species coming next week! It looks great and is a much better enclosure from their old enclosures.

There are some empty enclosures but there seems to be a lot of movement of animals so this is probably as a result.

Hopefully going back once the new addition arrives. Looks like it's a positive time for Dartmoor at the moment.

Successful trip to DZ today! Managed to see all of the new additions (since my last visit), including the cloud rats, dik-dik, gelada and female saki monkey.

The new mixed species exhibits are awesome - both the Africa aviary and South American enclosure are wonderful additions to the zoo, and I can't wait to see the possible additions to both exhibits.

The hedgehog hospital is progressing, and can be found just behind the Africa aviary.

The keepers and volenteers were super helpful and friendly, as always.

I'll get some photos posted once I'm home tomorrow, and have access to my laptop.
