When threads are deleted - usually because they are spam or otherwise unwanted - the forums still list the thread creator, but the thread is marked as deleted.

Is it possible to remove these deletion messages too?

I only ask because last night there appeared to be a spam attack, all of which were deleted, but in the General Zoo Discussion Forum there are now only one sticky and four threads to read (with other unread threads on the second page) and 21 deleted threads taking up the rest of the page.

    Thanks

    :p

deleting threads, posts or photos by "soft-delete" leaves the residue of the deletion as Hix describes. "Hard-delete" removes everything completely. However what I have found when hard-deleting posts or photos is that when any clean-up programmes are run (I don't know the technical side of the programmes but e.g. in the gallery to fix broken thumbnails etc) the hard-deleted items often reappear undeleted. I don't know why.
