No goblin or tiger sharks in 2017, but a few less-striking rarities were seen (Ganges softshell turtle, shovelnose guitarfish, Octopus hongkongensis... @MikeG, @Tim Brown and I got the chance to experience a couple of other wonderful displays - a public encounter (/touch session) with a short-finned pilot whale, and the amazing sardine show! Not sure whether you should look up videos of the latter or leave it as a surprise, although I'm told that the sardine show has been suspended while the whale shark is kept in their large reef tank. I'll probably write a note about Shinagawa aquarium on your new thread.
