    On the second of January a male Kirk's dik-dik (Madoqua kirkii) the first birth of this species in The Netherlands this year (according to the zoo).

    On facebook was mentioned that the first progress on the Mountain area was done due to the lack of visitors (blame covid closing the zoo). The hill will display 4 species (if all papers are approved) Kea, Bearded Vulture, Mountain Goats, Snow Leopard (or Cougar).

    Side-striped jackals have bred - at least 1 young :).

    At least 2 Red-billed blue magpies have fledged :).

    I saw a young tayra at Zie-Zoo yesterday, it's a female. It's the only one in this litter.

    Recently male Binturong (Arctictis binturong) Meenoi (*2020) was send to African Safari (France) where he will live together with a female.

    Another Kirk's dik-dik was born, a female. This is the third offspring of their current pair, the previous two moved to other zoos in the past few weeks.

    Zie-Zoo has announced a new project: A large scavenger aviary with Marabou storks, Eurasian griffon vultures, African white-backed vultures and Black kites, among others.

    This aviary will be built where the mountain goats are currently located

    Zie-Zoo has also received some animals from Switzerland: 3.0 Yucatan squirrels from Papiliorama Kerzers, 0.1 Edward's pheasant from Zoo Heidelberg, and 0.1 Plains Viscacha from Zoo Zürich
