If you are interested, I can provide a) a better photo of the diorama and b) a photo of the signage with all 56 species listed.

@German Zoo World Great work! I love this overview of all these magnificent dioramas of the AMNH.

For North America, I have photos of badger, opossum, mountain beaver, armadillo and frigatebird & booby.

(EDIT: these are now in the gallery!)

For Africa, I saw in the gallery that @twilighter already provided a photo the "Plains" diorama.

I haven't photos of all dioramas, but mainly of species I had never seen before, but if you are missing something I can search my files to see if I provide it.

I don't know if it is very usefull as you focus on individual dioramas, but I have a couple overviews of the Akeley Hall with the elephant parade and multiple dioramas in one photo.

I know @TeaLovingDave and @Chlidonias are able to add photos later on in their "photographic guides to...", so maybe one of them can give you help. It would be nice to get this overview as complete as possible.

Worth mentioning that in the okapi diorama there is infamously also a taxidermied chipmunk somewhere in it that was put there as a practical joke by one of the museum's artists in the 20's.

I looked for it when I was there but never did find it so it must be pretty well hidden.

I think it was actually painted in, not a taxidermy specimen.
