By checking the dwarf angelfish collection on my visit last weekend at Rotterdam Zoo I came to... 1 species. I found a single Centropyge acanthops at the fish Lab. It is however possible that more species and specimens are in the collection, the are lots of hidding-places in the numberous aquariums.

My friends own a few Flame Angelfish, but did you mean kept in zoos or captivity in general.

Sorry for the slightly older info, but on my visit to the New England Aquarium in January they had
Japanese angelfish (Centropyge interrupta) in the exhibit with the pineconefish. They were unsigned but I identified from my pictures and the aquarium also confirmed it in a email.

Oh vogelcommando, that would be also a lifer for me. I'm not much fond in Centropyge compared with Chaetodon, but I still like it :-D

No not anymore. I stopped keeping ( and breeding ) animals about 7 years ago but just started again last month ( small group of beetle-larves ).
Kept almost all kind of animals with the exeption of poisonous snakes and .... marine fishes !

You was so close-by on your Dutch - Belgium trip so this is realy a pitty !

So that explains the many tri[ps to fish stores! I go to my local store to get fish pretty often, and I can find many dwarf angelfish there.

Awesome species, nice one. Last time I saw a specimen was in a trade supplier for public aquaria here in the UK about 10 years ago, shame they never got established.

Do you know where that specimen ended-up because Zootierliste only mention Moskvarium ( Moscow ) as being a keeper of this species and no former collections are named which should have kept Centropyge aurantia.

Last time I was there, there were a few species, but the one I remember is the cherubfish.

Sadly I don't know, it was too expensive for us at the time despite my pleading! I was at the Moskvarium last week, unfortunately despite being on the look out for this particular species I didn't see it. Obviously that doesn't mean it isn't there, this particular species is pretty secretive, but it's a shame I didn't see it.

I kept a Rusty Angelfish (C. ferrugata) for a little while a couple years ago, but unfortunately my bristletooth tang took a disliking to him and injured him. Didn't recover. I haven't attempted keeping any Centropyge since, although I have seen a wide variety of species in my local aquarium store.

Went today to my favorite fishshop and found again a nice selection of marine fishes, corals and other marine creatures. In one of the aquariums I discovered this Rusty dwarf angelfish, a species I had never seen before, so again a lifer for me. Of course I made sevreal photos of it and one of them I already uploaded in the Netherlands - other Gallery, making this only the second photo of this species in our Gallery :

They offer tank-bred C. bispinosa as well.

Occasionally but with increasing regularity they have various captive bred Pomacanthidae species available in their WYSIWYG section. These being a variety of Centropyge, Holacanthus, and Pomacanthus.
