This news is from last month but I haven't seen it mentioned on the forums so will post it here.

The Eagle Reintroduction Wales (ERW) Project, a cooperative project between Cardiff University, the Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation and Wildlife Trust Wales, is looking to start feasibility studies to return both the white-tailed and golden eagle to Wales. Both species were widespread across Wales in the 15th and 16th centuries, with golden eagles becoming extinct by 1850 and white-tailed eagles lasting for around 10 more years.

In terms of captive collections, both Falconry Experience Wales and the British Birds of Prey Centre will be educating the public about the eagles, with three birds (a white-tailed and golden eagle from the British Birds of Prey Centre and a second white-tailed eagle from Falconry Experience Wales) serving as the ERW Ambassador Team.

A news article about the announcement is included here:
Bid to return lost eagle species to Wales

The project website is included here, with information about the captive collections and birds involved included in 'Collaborations' under the 'Our Team' heading:
