I've had this idea on my mind for a while now, and I wanted to see what people thought of it, so here goes. Also, if you have any concurring ideas or suggestions, please go ahead! The concept is for an ecosystem survival game, where you start at or near the bottom (let's say, a salamander) and then try to move up through 8 tiers to the top, Tier 9 (a tiger, for instance). There would be multiple different biomes to choose from which would be fairly accurate to the wildlife found there. For instance, the Taiga biome would be split into Canadian and Siberian Taiga maps. Each map has natural disasters, a day night cycle, seasons, weather, and so on. The goal is to survive for a given amount of time as your chosen species and get food while avoiding predators until you rank up. Think of it like a real-life Isle, or Saurian. You could play by yourself, with others, or have a Royale online mode where a large amount of players enter at the same time and the last one standing is the victor. What do you guys think?
I've had this idea bouncing around in my head as well for a while, with different biodomes depending on the habitat. A jungle dome, a savannah dome, a coral reef dome, etc...
Yeah, like that, split into different biomes, and further split into areas with those habitats, liek the Great Barrier Reef or something.
No, actually I was inspired by a simplified version of the same concept called mope.io. Does TierZoo have a similar concept? Edit: Looks like that's what the whole channel is about. But this is more about how an ecosystem works and less about stats and all that.
That's a neat idea, have you seen Tyto Ecology? That was a nice ecosystem sim, not as detailed as your idea but it's very satisfying to end up with an ecosystem supporting elephants or other megafauna having grown it literally from the ground up.
That's pretty cool! A bit different, since Tyto Ecology actually has you build the ecosystem instead of just survive in it, but same sort of basic concept.
