A male red panda kit has been born at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s Edinburgh Zoo and had his first health check with head vet Simon Girling and keeper Leanne Deacon. The team at People’s Postcode Lottery, whose players funded the wildlife conservation charity’s red panda enclosure in 2017, named the kit Ruaridh meaning red-haired king. Was at the zoo on Thursday and saw that happening, being filmed by a TV crew, presumably for a TV series as there were a lot of signs about the zoo. Saw on a keeper group on Facebook that 0.1 White-rumped shama arrived last month. Red-whiskered bulbul have also arrived but I don't know when, from where or how many. Will be to go and find out
