The latest e-news states that the transport crates are in the elephant's current home for them to get used to entering . First to move will be the bull . Stll nothing about where they are coming from !

websites being updated. But on the google search, all summer, it has said 'Meet Lions, Tigers, Elephants, Rhinos and more at Noah's Ark Zoo ...' and all summer, no elephants. Trade descriptions would have a field day.

Latest update (via there Facebook) came a week or two ago... and announced the elephants were in the final phase of crate training and were expected within the next two or three weeks. However that post has now disappeared, so quite what is happening now is anyone's guess...

Well there was no sign of elephants on the thirteenth of September, the enclosure still had a digger in the hardstanding. There is a very large model of an elephant though, from a distance it could pass as a real one. A very long distance though! :p

Of course, they have a model elephant at Twycross too - maybe it's a new money-saving trend. Having just survived the onslaught of summer visitors at my local zoo, I'm almost persuaded that a lot of them wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a cardboard cutout and the real thing ;)

Edinburgh had a fibre glass elephant near the entrance from when they ceased to hold elephants, or elephant in their case, they now have a sea lion statue next to their empty sea lion pool.

Does Twycross still have its lions - the crocheted ones, that is!

They are amazing pieces of art!

Whenever I handle galvanised wire I end up looking like I have wrestled a wolverine!... That or a lawnmower!

Only the second zoo in Europe to go to PC what a laugh, you have to wish a place would check facts first before putting out this rubbish! As just in the UK we have Paignton Zoo,Belfast Zoo,Blackpool Zoo and Blair Drummond Safari Park all working in PC,and Twycross Zoo moving over to it,and I sure most of the others in the UK work in PC to some degree!

It does say only the second PC move, not PC facility :)

Sounds like they are going two by two, as someone predicted.
