A bit late, but I visited the zoo in June this year.
I was surprised to see Dark cusimanse (Crossarchus obscurus) there, making them the second zoo in The Netherlands with this species.

Recently 2 White tufted-ear marmosets (Callithrix jacchus) were born.

Sadly, Texel zoo has finally lost the battle. Last night, Local politicians tried a last effort to save the mini-zoo. A vote was called to save Texel zoo, but the majority voted against keeping them open.

The zoo has been operating without an official zoo license, and the owner was operating without technically having permission. It was decided that it wouldn't be right to provide a zoo license if the zoo had already been failing to follow the rules.

Texel zoo will have a time period of two years to rehouse their animals and taking down operations.

I'm very glad to have visited this little zoo when I could
