No, Exmoor's rheas came from Mulhouse.

One of the African Wild Dogs died a few months back from a heart attack. The otter enclosure is about to be refurbished to hold Bush dogs hopefully by Summer. Wolverine enclosure is still unfinished, doesn't seem to of been touched in months now.

Do the zoo still have golden cats and leopard cats?

And any news on the bobcat possibility?

I'm going for the first time on Saturday. What should I attempt to see before leaving (it's a quick pit-stop type visit unfortunately)?
Tayra - a first for me. Any others?
    Thanks

Sand cats and rusty-spotted cats (which are easier to see later in the day). Plus New Guinea singing dogs.

Palmnut Vultures, Darwin's Rhea, Vulturine Guineafowl, Blue-throated Macaws, Yellow-throated Martens, Pink-backed Pelicans, Indian Spotbills, Comb Duck, European Spoonbills, quite a few Ibis species........ Probably more cat species than any other UK collection.

Whatever I was meant to ask about, I am afraid I completely forgot  But now I have a more reliable car, I am really tempted to take another trip down there this year. It is such a great little zoo.

So, first time today....., highlights were: Pademelon (great viewing), Chacoan Mara, Sitatunga marsh enclosure, YT Martens & very active Puma & Wolves. I thought the Patrot aviaries were small. I loved seeing so many Ibis species. Blackbrook stock? I missed the Rusty's and Tayra, so must go back!! Overall, it was like Shaldon on steroids....., I will return!

Some older news from Exmoor, but I still think it is interesting enough to post here.

Back in April, a male Eurasian black stork left Exmoor to form a second breeding pair at the farm/breeding centre of Derek Gow (the main breeder/reintroducer of captive-bred water voles, heavily involved in the ongoing English reintroductions of beaver and white stork and is also in the planning stages for reintroducing wildcat to England and Wales). The hope is the black storks will breed there and be able to be reintroduced into the wild.

Information comes from Derek Gow's Twitter feed, which I have included below (hopefully it has attached properly, if not it is dated from 22nd April 2018):

Perhaps the Gow's place is worthy of its own thread then?!?

Is there an official reintroduction programme for black stork in the UK?
