Just found some notes about the Fijian crested iguana popukation from Monuriki Island. Only 20 specimens survaived and were taken into capticity and bred succesfully. At the same time all the Monuriki iguanas were in captivity, Monuriki was made goat and rat-free and there are plans to re-intoduce the iguanas back to their Island, In these notes it was however not mentioned were the animals are kept and how good the breeding-results have been sofar. Therefor my question : does anyone know more about this rescue-programm ?
they were taken to Kula Eco-Park. Google something like "Monoriki Island iguanas Kula Eco-park" and you'll find information from the park.
