    The Flint RiverQuarium is a 54,000-square-foot facility located in Albany, Georgia. Species include green-winged macaw, double-crested cormorant, mourning dove, little blue heron, gopher tortoise, American (albino) alligator, Barbour's map turtle, copperhead, barking tree frog, and various freshwater and marine fish and invertebrates, among other species.

    On March 23rd, the aquarium announced that due to avian influenza, the Cypress Creek Aviary was closed to the public.

    On April 26th, it was reported that the aquarium's owners (who also own Chehaw Park & Zoo) are seeking $4 million to add more exhibits (which would include sharks, rays, and other larger fish) and make renovations to the facility.

    Artesian Alliance embarking on new master plan

    On August 20th, it was reported that $109 million was given to the city of Albany for renovations, which included increasing the funding for the aquarium.
