This is old news and was covered on here about 18 months ago.

The zoo has never been off the market and we would still consider selling to the right person.

So far, none of the potential purchasers have been the "right" types!

Yeah I was gonna say, I'm sure it was for sale a year or 2 back.

It'd be cool if the new owner still came on ZooChat to update us all on the Zoo's progress like Steve does, when it does eventually get sold. Better yet - sell it to a ZooChatter. :D

what if we all put in $20? Have a board composed of 100,000 zoochat members! Hmmm, not sure that would work really.....oh well.

Float the place on the Stock Exchange, Steve, but keep 51% of the shares for yourself.

I know that you can't guarantee large profits (or, for that matter, ANY profits) but there are enough zoo tragics out here who would love to own a share (no matter how small) of a zoo. You could be the Rupert Murdoch of the zoo world!

What?!!!! I'd have to assess 100,00 ZooChatterers to see if they were the "right" type?

Now there's an idea. I've always been envious of some of the big, corporate owned zoos that can touch-up the shareholders for funds for a new project.

I don't know about Rupert though. I think I'm more in Kerry's mould.

The only publicly traded zoo that I'm aware of is Berlin. Are there others?

    Featherdale is owned by P&O

I'm not sure if the owners of Seaworld, Dreamworld, Melbourne Aquarium etc are currenly listed, but at various times they were.

Disney of course in America, and some of the others such as Busch Gardens, and of course the Seaworlds could be.

Hamburg in Germany, but I wasn't aware Berlin is?

Belle Vue in Manchester (now extinct) was once.

    I'm sure there are others.
