Black crested mangabey "Flip" has left his home-group at Gaia Zoo and will become the breeding male at Katowice Zoo - Poland.

 

For the first time at Gaia Zoo, 2 Rock Hyraxes have been born ( I already saw them last weekend ).

 

For the first time in the ( short ) history of Gaia Zoo, Puna ibisses have hatched

 

A Siberian eagle owl which was used in the bird-show made a great mistake and landed into the Lynx-enclosure.......RIP Eagle owl

 

Oh dear.

I suppose this is a bit of a risk with these shows, especially with rather slower bird species. I once saw a turkey vulture try to fly inside a small mammal house, but the outcome there wouldn't have been bad for the bird. It would seem unusual to have a lynx exhibit that isn't meshed over, it must be a good size.

Last Sunday a Gorilla was born at Gaia and today - in the same enclosure a Black Mangabey .

Strange they call it in the title of the article "Limburg Zoo" because the now closed very bad zoo at Genk Zwartberg in Belgium had almost the same name Limburgse Zoo.
Gaia Zoo is however a very good zoo and is in the Dutch province Limburg.
The terrrible Belgium Zoo was however also in the province Limburg but in the Belgium province Limburg.
