They didn't make eye contact with us for the rest of their visit so probably yes! :p

I've heard people say sooo many times that birds that 100% are molting are unhappy and that they have been picking each others feathers. :rolleyes:o_O

Is the assumption that Edinburgh Zoo's female giant panda is pregnant a misconception?

By far the worst is the people that, although they willing paid entry for and went to a zoo that day, spend the whole time lamenting on how cruel it is for the animals to be trapped in such a cruel, inhumane prison.

"This isn't right! These animals deserve to be free!"
"We should take all the animals in the zoo and release them into the wild!" (Where?? The giant trash island in the Pacific?? The acres of cow-pasture in the Amazon?? Downtown Shanghai??)
"Look at that animal there! All he's doing is sleeping! He must be so bored and depressed!" (He's sleeping as much as he would be in the wild, Susan, at least here he doesn't need to worry about something trying to eat him)

And yet the same people will go on to praise organisations like PETA and The DoDo, and share videos on their facebooks of men cuddling black jaguars and grizzly bears. Pah.

Is it a misconception that elephants live longer in the wild than they do in zoos, and that the mortality rate for elephant calves in captivity is three times higher than in the wild?
