I can confirm that as of the time of writing none of these have disappeared and I highly doubt the species at Burgers' will be disappearing anytime soon especially since the pihas are breeding readily!
Thought I might as well give an update on my plans. So in September I will AT LEAST be visiting both Berlins, Leipzig and Magdeburg. However, there is a chance that I might be going on a wider zoo tour with a certain someone, in which case I will also be heading to Hannover, Walsrode, Krefeld, Poznan, Wroclaw, Prague and Plzen.....but we’ll have to wait and see.
Krefeld seems a bit random, given nowhere near anywhere else mentioned and other (more) interesting places in close proximity?
One reason only, the mountain anoa. Should it pass away I will likely do Dortmund or Wuppertal instead.
Not luck as such - it takes plenty of time, effort and money to make the trips happen! Have an amazing time!
Ah, understand now. I must admit it didn't seem a million miles different to a Lowland Anoa when I (all too) briefly saw it in 2010 but I know I'd want to see it if I hadn't already. I'd forgot you'd already seen Baby.
In fairness, the someone I may be travelling with wants to see Baby so Duisburg may be done together with Krefeld...
I want to see Baby! It’s annoying that I was in Münster and Cologne in December and I only found out about Baby after! Well, I’ll have to return to Germany soon anyway in order to finish off the other half of Berlin Tierpark that I didn’t get to see in just one day!
Itinerary wise I will be taking out a solid week, maybe a couple days extra, for this trip. Two days for each Berlin collection (second day of Berlin Zoo will include the aquarium), a day for each of the others. If the other zoos end up happening then Duisburg/Krefeld will happen on the same day, and Prague will also be given two days. Plzen would be two but apparently a huge majority of their offshow stock is currently onshow anyway due to renovation works behind the scenes...
