Of the female golden-cheeked gibbons at the park, Alex and Vietta are the only ones who have not had offspring. In the case of Alex I can understand why because she has not been with an adult male for a while since the unpredictable Rafael left. Vietta on the other hand has been with a male, Tito, for some years but still did not give birth. I find this odd, since both are fertile mature gibbons, a species whose individuals the park will encourage to breed for the breeding program of endangered species. I understand now the females are on birth control (according to 2017 ARCs) due to shortage of good homes for the offspring, but they certainly weren't years prior to now, so is there some reason why Vietta still hasn't had a single baby? I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed this.
