3 year old female Amur Tiger, Hani, died overnight from unknown causes. Since they are unsure of the cause they are concerned about sister Hana. Her untimely demise is unforutnate for the Amur breeding program. At 3 she was just coming to an age where they could have used her for breeding and she and Hana are from Seoul so their genetics are high value to the program. At least they still have Hana. Hani likely died from pleuritis, a lung condition common in domestic cats. More tests will be done to determine the cause and other factors.
