Twin Amur Leopards born on February 10th: They are a male and a female, and this is the second litter of mother Jade and father Nelkan. Mother Jade arrived from Potawatomi Zoo in 2011 and father Nelkan from Berlin Zoo in 2016. They had their first litter on 2017, also a female and a male. Since the last post: On May 22nd, the zoo announced that it will be open first to members from May 29th to May 31st, while regular guests will be available to visit the zoo on June 8th. Restrictions include wearing masks, tickets must be paid online, the gift shop will be opened at a limited capacity, and interior exhibits, water fountains, and playgrounds will be closed until further notice. She has been named Providence. And the winner is... Giraffe calf at Greenville Zoo officially has a name Providence was born on Feb. 21 at the zoo, weighing in at 148.5 pounds and standing at six feet tall. Her mother is a 14-year-old giraffe named Autumn. The zoo had announced Autumn was expecting another baby in November 2020. Providence is the third calf for Autumn and Miles, the zoo's male Masai giraffe.
Last month 47-year old female black-headed spider monkey (Ateles fusciceps) Selma passed away. On the 17th of September a Schmidt’s Red-Tailed Guenon (Cercopithecus ascanius) was born, the gender is still unknown.
