Hey. Just randomly came upon this site. I was originally searching for who was the oldest Asian elephant in the U.S, and actually found the answer here. I come from the Oregon Zoo, which is pretty much my home. I've been a zoo member for a little over a year. All thanks to my mom giving me a membership for my graduation present. And now I've taken the next step and became a volunteer for the zoo as well. I also love taking wild life pictures of the animals that live at the Oregon Zoo are some of my favorites. If I had to pick just one animal to be my favorite, it would have to be Thelma, one of the sea otters at the zoo. She's such a sweetheart and quite interactive with visitors. I hope to meet a lot of new people here, and hopefuly even some people from around Oregon and such.
Hello and welcome to Zoochat! I'm a volunteer at the Los Angeles Zoo, and I love it. What do you volunteer in?
I'm curently involved in the Photo committee, Animal talks, enrichment, and I'm helping out a lot during our Zoo Lights event.
Cool! I'm only part of the enrichment program at the LA zoo. I've been volunteering for a whole year now and I love it. Today I helped with the gorillas and black bears.
Neat. I'm signed up for a few enrichment activities. One of them is Present for Primates. They really enjoy that activity.
How weird, that's how our holiday enrichment event used to be called, but now it's called Reindeer Romp because other animals across the zoo also get enrichment, and because some reindeer come for the holidays.
I think we also have 'The 12 days of Christmas' deliveries. Not too sure what goes into that. I need to see if there's still room to sign up for it. With zoo lights and other stuff I'm swamped for December. We also have the our Polar Bear's birthday's on the 26th of December. They get a ton of treats and toys.
