Hi guys! I am a high school student and hopefully a future geography student from the northwestern alpine region of Slovenia. Coming from the most biodiverse country per capita in Europe, I have come to love animals and all things nature and am thus also a big fan and supporter of zoos. I have visited over 20 on my travels but I always return back to my home zoo, Ljubljana zoo, which I love and really like where it is going with its conservation and renovation efforts. Hopefully I can learn a lot from the community and contribute something aswell.
Welcome given the fact relatively few of us have been to your area I suspect you will have a lot to contribute and share!
Welcome to zoochat! You can give a lot of information for zoos in the Balkan (and more olm photos please!)
Thanks, to be honest, from the Balkan zoos I have visited only Zoo Skopje and the Krk aquarium, but I am planning a visit to Zagreb zoo as soon as possible. If you count Slovenia as a part of the Balkans, I have also visited Zoo park Rožman and the Vivarium at the Postojna caves with loads of olms and other cave animals.
