Hello. I have looked on here before but have only just signed up.

I live in Kent in the UK. I grew up going to Howletts and Port Lympne, though my favourite park is Monkey World. Bronx Zoo is the best I’ve been to for space, environments, etc.

I’ve visited rainforest in Bolivia, Thailand and Sumatra, next year I’m planning to go to Madagsacar. My proudest achievement has been to run a half-marathon for slow lorises: Run Loris, Run! | Helping the Slow Loris One Stride at a Time

Currently I’m volunteering each Saturday with Howletts’ crowned and red-bellied lemurs, plus their one (very misbehaved) black & white ruffed lemur. I’m in the walk-through but there are a few zoo keeper duties too, hopefully it will lead to something more full-time!

Anyway, I’m looking forward to chatting and sharing a few photos :)

Welcome lemur you have done the right thing joining, resistance is futile for zoo lovers,:p sounds as though you have more experience of actual zoo life than most of us here.
Well done on the marathon, I hope you raised plenty of money.

Welcome from another Madagascar fan. I have worked there for 5 months last winter, so if you need any advise, feel free to ask ;).

Thanks! I raised over £700, I'm thinking of doing something lemur related next.

How do I turn off auto-subscriptions to threads I have posted in? I have had a look in the control panel and options menus.

As a thank you have Howletts' crowned lemur baby at 2 days old. He's now 4 months of age :)

Welcome to Zoochat :) to turn off your auto-subscriptions - click on the tools icon in the top right hand corner of your screen (above your notifications) and the option is under miscellaneous (subscribed threads) hope this helps
