    I'm sliding into the pool!

Found this site in reference to my search for "coatimundi enhibit" some time ago, though my real top interest has and always will be otters (all species, but in particular river otters and shorties.)

I have rather close experience with River Otters (NARO) and am always looking for more ideas re: captive management and enrichment. Mostly been reading interesting stuff and reports about various zoos in general here since joining today.

Hope to chime in the future with some of my own ideas from time to time.

    always otterpop

Hey, thanks for the welcomes! Kinda slowly getting around here. This is a great site, especially with seeing some of the other otter exhibits, and the forum's search feature is quite handy. I am familiar with the High Desert Museum's otter home. Fantastic for it's time (opened in 1983 with 'icons', Bert and Ernie), but it's aging and will be getting a new look hopefully in the near future.

    otter pop always

As you likely know, there are only half a dozen or so zoos in the USA with spot necked otters. Two of those are right here in Arizona (Tucson and Phoenix), so if you ever make it out this way to see them let me know.
