Difficult to answer as there are probably some offshow. September 2016 I saw about 8 on show, in pairs, single and a mother with kittens. I imagine there is a similar number now.

Had a great visit today - my first - and really impressed by the species held, friendliness of the staff, all topped off with great views of Hamish and Victoria swimming and rolling around in the heather afterwards.

Think the park are handling expectations of seeing Hamish really well, having staff on hand at their enclosure to chat to visitors and explain that, as animals are animals, there's never any guarantee of when they'll be awake / more visible but passing on knowledge of when they have been and may be. Worked for us.

"Hamish is enjoying getting out and about with his mum Victoria and learning to swim. Head Keeper Una is here to give us the latest on the new arrival."

That's a shame, we saw it when we visited on the 12th April.

I went in December and there was two Arctic Fox's then, although one was blind I was told. Sad that both must have died in the short space of time. Is their exhibit now empty?

    A #WeeHamish update.

Unlike Victoria, Hamish hasn’t yet worked out that he needs to stay in the shade during this unusually hot weather. Just as a precaution, we are therefore ensuring mum and cub only have access to their off-show area, which has plenty of shade. We also have ice block treats to keep them nice and cool. They are both then coming out into their main habitat in the cooler evenings.

This does mean that Hamish and Victoria may not be visible to visitors over the next few days. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused to anyone planning a special journey and will be sure to keep you up to date. Arktos and Walker know exactly how to chill out in this weather and can still be seen in their own habitat – with ice treats of their own and swimming in their pool.

What sort of temperatures were they getting up there when Hamish was restricted to the off show area? The restriction has now been lifted, but it still looks pretty warm, although maybe a little more cloudy.

Latest members news confirms 1M 1F Arctic Fox arrived earlier in November, and the Red Panda kits are now out and about
