Does anyone know whether the zoo will be getting another elephant to meet the standards of AZA. Or if they will artificially inseminate Christie again?

I believe they are still within AZA standards if they are actively seeking to have 3 elephants and they are able to house that number.

Hogle Zoo's Facebook page just posted that a Author is making a book on the zoo's history and is looking for stories and memoirs from the past. Anyone want to donate photos to the project too?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Hogle and Indianapolis are trying AI currently or very soon.

Could Christie have been artificially inseminated prior to now and be pregnant at the moment, or is that not possible?

It is possible for sure. Many zoos what until at least a year into pregnancy before announcing it seems.

I don't know. The Markhor are still there.

The master plan does apparently list expansions for Asian Highlands. I'd assume the new Red Panda exhibit will be apart of it.
