They said the meerkats would be located on the west side of the Savanna. Also, the meerkats haven't arrived yet, so they logically wouldn't have announced their names. Even if they have arrived, and they still haven't announced their names, you can always call the zoo. I want to be more fair, but at the same time, I beg of you, I implore you, PLEASE READ THE LINKS!

If you have questions about animal names, please ask the zoo instead of spamming that question in the discussion threads. Most likely nobody here knows the names of the animals.

Yes, the meerkats are currently in the Small Animal Building.

I don't know the names, but they're probably the one from the Small Animal Building.

Hogle Zoo announced Warthogs are coming yesterday on Facebook.

    Utah's Hogle Zoo

They say the exhibit will be in the northwest part of the African Savanna, on the other side of the train tracks from the lions.

Anyone think it's interesting that the 2 species being added to the African Savannah exhibit area are meerkats and warthogs? Considering a certain movie coming out this summer, it kinda makes you go "Hmmmmm……"

Maybe a mandrill will show up next along with a hornbill.

I remember that the National Zoo had a Washed Ashore exhibit.

Do you know they're planning some more breeding with elephants? Or insemination Christie?

I have not heard of any plans, but they must have a plan to increase their herd size to the AZA minimum of 3, given that they do not have "geriatric/non-breeding" cows, I doubt they would be allowed an exception. I have not heard of anything, but was wondering if Milwaukee got a bull if the Hogle girls would go to Milwaukee's new exhibit to start their breeding herd. I have not seen any indication that Hogle plans to phase out elephants, was just a thought, as they really should be in breeding situation.

Milwaukee is unfortunately not a breeding facility, though it was originally planned. It’s only a holder for older females and bulls.

I read that Hogle Zoo two years ago tried to fertilize Christie again, but I don't know if they're still doing this.

In a recent magazine from Hogle called "Your Zoo", Hogle Zoo has stated that the Small Animal Building will undergo extensive changes during 2020/2021. It talked about improving individual living spaces for animals, outside access, sound proofing, and overhauling the ventilation and HVAC systems.
