Sadly that article requires an upgrade to my iPhone which is impossible because the phone itself is obsolete... Is there another source which I could read? Thanks! :)

This guy was heavily involved in Congo Gorilla Forest and Russia's Grizzly Coast, two excellent immersive exhibits. He has great plans for the zoo so we should all look out for Houston.

I wondered where Charlie was! Also horrible news about Mtembei. He was beautiful. There used to be four ostriches. Did one of them die?

They seem to be back to four ostriches in with the giraffes. The giraffe cameras were down 3 days after Mtembei's passing. Cams are back up.

Personally, I don't think that exhibit is big enough for two tigers.

Glad he is going to Chris' place. Blanco, the new female intermedius and the pair of siamensis are great additions. Blanco will be happy to leave that concrete "swamp".
Hoping his move leads to renovating or constructing a new reptile house. Probably not, as Ehmke only does mammal exhibits.

For the last 3 days observing Houston's Giraffe Yard Cam, Tyra their 18 year old female has been in the GRD and I noticed the giraffes who were out were staring. Does anyone know how Tyra is? Thank you in advance.

The article says they're "revamping" the reptile house, doesn't sound like a full renovation but maybe there will be some cool new things.

Had an excellent visit a few weeks ago and was really impressed with the zoo as the whole (especially the gorilla and chimp exhibits) while mildly disappointed with certain parts of it (the awful sea lion exhibit, bear grottoes, generic hoofstock yards. The big news is the elephant yard is being expanded, which will open next year.
