Well, I was looking for a perfect giant panda exhibit and I saw a link and clicked on it and now I found heaven. It was 2 years ago
I was just looking at the bronx zoo monorail species list but after I decided to keep going through the website. A year or so later of silently reading (stalking) I decided hey, why not join?!
I found this site after visiting the Henry Doorly Zoo for the first time. I was searching for information on gorilla exhibits in the USA and have been a member since 2009.
No, that was ZooBeat you found there. He has since been asked not to loiter in that area and isn't seen in public much anymore. ZooChat would have been the one standing on a soap-box in the park proselytizing about zoos and animal conservation.
... I totally don't remember. Usually I remember how I find websites. Most likely I found it while searching Google images for something, noticing the title of the website and being all like "THERE'S A FORUM FOR ZOO LOVERS WELL SIGN ME UP". I've been introducing other people to the site, heh heh heh.
Same as a lot of people. I started getting curious about facility holdings and exhibits, noticed most of the pictures originating from one site, and bam! A new world opened up for me. Zoochatters seem to post the vast majority of zoo exhibit pictures currently found on the Internet... I guess that's not surprising.
