By zoo, I would probably mean a full on zoological facility rather than the likes of farm petting zoos and pet shops. Basically anything that fits the common criteria often used on zoochat. I am in the 40-100 minutes bracket myself, and if more than 100 minutes for an actually decent major zoo. Also, would probably mean whichever mode of transport you would get you there fastest. In some cases, I assume it may take longer by car to go through traffic, parking, etc. than walking. It wouldn't matter that it takes me 11 hours to walk to my nearest zoo if I can get there in 40 minutes by car, so just put down the time for whatever mode of transport is most applicable to you. I would also like to hear specifically from anyone who lives more than 40 minutes away like I do. I'm assuming there are not too many of us, but who knows?
I'm guessing you mean driving time? I live ten minutes walk from Wellington Zoo, which is one of the four main zoos in New Zealand.
It depends what's counted really. There's a small aviary with exotic birds and a large flamingo pool in Kowloon Park, which is a 3-minute walk from my apartment. Hong Kong Park (huge walk-through aviary) and the Zoo/Botanical Gardens would take me about 15-20 minutes (2 stops on the metro + a 10-minute walk). Ocean Park takes around 20-25 minutes (further away, but shorter walk from the metro station).

(I also edited this in the opening)
I live near the border so HKZBG would take me an hour as well as Ocean Park. I would even probably say Shenzhen safari park is even closer if you discard the time for border crossing lol
Takes around 30-40 minutes for me to get the closest (and basically only) zoo in my vicinity which is Auckland Zoo.
It takes me around 15 minutes driving distance to the closest zoo, and around 25 minutes for the other closest zoo.
I live about 12 minutes away from Southwick’s Zoo, my closest AZA zoo is Capron Park Zoo which is about 45 minutes away from me
There is an aquarium one hour from my home, and a couple of small animal parks about 90 minutes away. For a proper zoo, I need to drive 3 hours to Asson, or a bit more to Santillana.
I realise now that the brackets should have been adjusted slightly, the 30-40 minutes is too small, while the 40-100 is too big of a range. It seems my assumption was correct, most Zoochatters live in or nearby a city with a zoo. There are some that might live in farther away suburbs, and a few like me that need to go to the next city over. I thought there would be more less than 10 minutes, however.
Australia Zoo is a 30-40 minute drive. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and another smaller nature centre are both about 20 minutes away.
The Detroit Zoo is about a 30-45 minute drive from my house, 60 minutes if there's a lot of traffic. Sea Life Michigan is 20-30 minutes away.
I live about eight minutes away from the Capron Park Zoo. For a large zoo, I'm thirty minutes from Roger Williams. For an aquarium, both Mystic and New England Aquarium are an hour away- with the first one being a much easier drive.
