Now that was quick, I only read the story about 4 hours ago. And for once I actually agree with the animal rights groups, it couldn't be good for the birds.
Added draw for the public because of some tenuous link between Penguins(generally) and 'ice', and the current popularity penguins seem to be enjoying- as the avian equivalent of Meerkats? Having no experience of animals they were unaware of the potential stress involved .
Exactly! It is almost as brilliant an idea as when London Zoo held late-night parties a few years ago and some fool apparently poured beer onto a tiger...maybe the zoo should stick to organizing events where people streak naked through the facility to raise money for charity.
