Excellent news - is there a long-term plan for this species then or will this be the only breeding pair Europe's ever likely to see. Is there a singleton anywhere [thought Berlin Zoo?], and is it unrelated. Seems dead end to me, but maybe if they're breeding there is a plan of action? Either that or they're just keeping them going for as long as they can.

There was a picture of one of the cubs in the Courier Mail, a local Australian paper.

The sire of the cubs is a 17 year old male born at Wuppertal Zoo. The dam is the one and only Javan leopard female in europe. Berlin Tierpark is keeping the old male, the female, a young male from Bogor and the two cubs at the moment. A 11 year old male is living at Berlin Zoo.

Is the young male from Bogor related to the female?- Aside from that, fantastic news!

The old male at the Tierpark and the male at Zoo are related. I do not know whether the brace from Bogor is related or not.
