I forgot to put this in the Jungle Cat World thread. Could a mod please move it there? It would be very much apperciated.
I was looking around facebook and found out they have a behind the scenes experience. You could hang out with Kangaroos, hawks, singing dogs, fennec foxes, red foxes, ruffed lemurs, ring tailed lemus, servals, boas, wolves and maybe coolest of all striped hyenas. There are red fox and wolf pups. I know some of you would like that kind of up close experience. Are you going any time soon? I would love to see a ton of pictures if its not too much trouble and a review if possible. It would be interesting to learn more about it. It is a small zoo so if your driving any distance to visit it you might want to consider stopping in at Bowmanville or Riverview (in Peterborough) to fill out the day. Riverview is free and if you are taking kids has a very nice play ground and splash pad but its animals are rather limited. I havent been to Bowmanville but they have newborn lion cubs on display on weekends.
Hoping to go before August but if not ill go in August. Ill be sure to take lots of pictures and post them.
A female Amur tiger cub, Contessa, was born August 18th and is now on display. I think based on facebook photos she is being hand reared or at least partly hand reared.

The zoo has adopted 2 female lion cubs born Nov 3 2015 from a zoo in Quebec. Sisters Samira and Maliaka will be joining white lion male Gopa when they are old enough. Interesting choice since the young white lion prides at Toronto, Parc Safari, African Lion Safari, Safari Niagara and Elmvale Jungle Zoo are all mature or entering maturity. Toronto and Elmvale both have welcomed their first litters this year. Now Toronto has all males and I have no clue what Elmvale has but I'm surprised Jungle Cat World doesn't just wait for white lion females to be born.
If that is the case then I am really surprised they didnt work the Elmvale to get the female cub or cubs instead of two normal lions. If Gopa breeds with them then they will just be saddled with cubs no one wants like Toronto is with Lindy and Jerroh. Lions which are neither pure whites or normal lions without the pesky recessive gene. Part of me wonders if the cubs are from Parc Safari and maybe white lions who just are not white. Although I think Parc Safari would have kept them with mom unless she rejected them but even then they could have kept the cubs until they were sub adults to raise attendance.
Next spring could see the pitter patter of snow leopard cubs. While Paki is too old to breed male Balek has a new mate in from the US.
Two tiger cubs have been born and a white lion cub of unknown origins are now part of a behind the scenes experience. I'm sincerely concerned that they are just trying to cash in on the cubs just as Bowmanville did. The lion cub could be from Elmvale Jungle Zoo which appears to have white lion cubs again for the third year in a row or it could be from Gopa and his two females but the females would I think still be on the young side.
