By the way, the sire of the calf is Ruka, who will be a first-time-dad. This will be the first Black Rhino born at Kansas City Zoo since 2010, when Layla (Brookfield Zoo) was born to Luyisa (now deceased) and Tucker (Busch Gardens Tampa).

A male Masai giraffe has arrived from Brevard Zoo:

    https://www.kansascity.com/news/local/article267787922.html

Aidan, a 3-year-old Masai giraffe, recently joined three other giraffes at the zoo.

Aidan has to quarantine for 30 days. After that, if he receives a clean bill of health, he will join 3-year-old Chandy, 10-year-old Makali and 28-year-old Mahali.
