Home Zoo: Milwaukee Zoo Keep: Aviary Steal: Bronx Zoo's Congo Gorilla Forest Demolish: small mammals building
Bannerghatta Bio Park Keep: The newly constructed monkey exhibits, their among the best in the zoo. Steal: Mysore Zoo’s Moon Bear exhibit, its much better than the current one. Demolish. The Northern cage block, all the exhibits are inadequate for the animals.
Finally had the guts to get on the site. Here's one for Detroit Zoo: Keep: Arctic Ring of Life Steal: Either Akron Zoo's Grizzly Ridge or the Islands Pavilion at Louisville Demolish: The Bear Grottos
Home Zoo: Taman Safari Indonesia I Keep: Safari Journey Steal: Australia Zone (TSI II) Demolish: Baby Zoo
I did this a while ago, but my views have changed some since, for the Capron Park Zoo: Keep: The Sloth Bears. Ideally expanding their exhibit into the lion/goat areas as well, doubling down on the care of this species. Steal: Personally I prefer seeing unique/original exhibits than just stealing ideas from existing zoos, but I'd choose to steal the Desert Dome from the North Carolina Zoo, as I really like the concept of Desert Domes and view this one as better than Indianapolis, and more reasonably sized than Omaha. Demolish: the Sadler Building is in my opinion the weakest of the zoo's exhibits, and would be the one I choose to demolish.
Since it hasn't been mentioned here, and it's one of the closest to me, I'll do Racine Keep: Stork Aviary Steal: Cleveland MetroParks Rainforest (Serves as the best replacement for the Demolish) Demolish: Vanishing Kingdom
Whipsnade Keep The Wolverine and Brown Bear walk - still the best part of the zoo even after 80 years! Steal I can't choose between the following which could easily fit in one small corner of the zoo : Alfred Brehm House - a bit greedy maybe but no problem on space! A Yorkshire Wildlife Park polar bear exhibit - easily and cheaply done! The whole of Bristol zoo and or Hamerton (without the paddocks around the camels / alpaca / bears/tigers) - Hamerton enclosures this is doable for minimal cost to give best zoo in the UK probably! Demolish - no point unless you build something in its place! Plenty of land to build on!
Central Park Zoo: Keep Sea Bird Aviary (very nice penguin and puffin exhibits in the heart of New York City) Steal Demolish Sea Lion Pool (might be better for harbor or grey seals due to its small size) Prospect Park Zoo: Keep tufted deer (they've been very successful with this species and mix them with birds in this lovely exhibit. Maybe mixing them with red pandas would be a good idea) Steal Columbus Zoo's Australia and the Islands (the PPZ already has a good amount of Australian wildlife, but a dedicated, multiseason Australia exhibit would make PPZ stand out from WCS' other zoos) Demolish Hall of Animals (what even is this exhibit?) Cincinnati Zoo: Keep Cat Canyon (nice big cat exhibits. Tigers, pumas, and snow leopards) Steal Detroit Zoo's Arctic Ring of Life (fantastic polar bear and Arctic wildlife exhibit. Just what the zoo needs now that it is absent bears) Demolish the Veldt (the rhino, ungulate and flamingo area across from manatees). I think it's one of the weaker areas of the zoo, prime real estate for a great exhibit as opposed to a large mammal mishmosh.
Barcelona zoo: Keep: Terra de Dragons (orangutans is a close runner-up) Steal: London Zoo's Sumatran tiger exhibit (replacing the current grotto) Demolish: Parrot plaza (monkey gallery gets the silver wrecking ball) Oceanografic Valencia: Keep: Shark tank (all the fish exhibits are 10/10) Steal: Shedd Aquarium's Oceanarium (for the beluga) Demolish: Arctic pavilion (the belugas deserve better) More coming up!... Maybe.
Home zoo Milwaukee Zoo (hi!) Keep: the otters (it's the newest one ) Steal: st. Louis zoo reptile house! Demolish: the aquarium/reptile house (it's so bad it needs a major change)
What do you think is bad about the AARC? I think it's one of the better parts of the zoo, personally.
I've always found the signage needs a great deal of updating and the central aquarium with fish of lake Michigan is actually very awkward to view. The Amazon tank is really the only one I think still holds up these days. Basically it just needs a major update.
Sure, but it's really that bad. The signage is fine (it's basically the same as the signage in the rest of the zoo). The native species tank is awkward to view. I can't really think of any other complaints, though. And I think Small Mammals is pretty clearly the worst part of the zoo.
My turn! Henry Vilas Zoo Keep: Arctic Passage. Best habitat at the whole zoo. Not a difficult choice. Steal: Do these have to “fit” in the zoo space-wise? If not, I’m yoinking the Polk Penguin Conservation Center from Detroit. Demolish: The African Penguin exhibit. Also, are the “stolen” exhibits “replacing” the “demolished” exhibits? I’m trying to avoid stealing exhibits that have species the zoo already has. Phoenix Zoo Keep: Tropics Trail in its entirety. It could very well be it’s own zoo (I’ve spent entire trips in this one area). Steal: Columbus Zoo’s Roadhouse. It’s a cool, dark, air-conditioned nocturnal house full of Australasian weirdo-rarities. Aka, my dream exhibit! In my opinion, every zoo should have this! Demolish: That one tent where the koalas and baby Komodo dragons were kept. Who needs that when the Roadhouse is an option?
Marwell Zoo Keep: Okapis perhaps? Good viewing; and also one of Knowles' favourite.. Steal: Cotswolds Wildlife Park's Little Africa perhaps; or maybe Malayan Tapir from either Chester or Port Lympne Demolish: Send out the Lowland Tapirs; replace with the Malayan Tapir that was stolen
Brookfield Zoo Keep: Great Bear Wilderness, Regenstein Wolf Woods, The Living Coast Steal: Giants of the Savanna, Water’s Edge: Africa (Hippo enclosure), Congo Gorilla Forest Demolish: Habitat Africa The Savanna, Habitat Africa The Forest, Hoofed Animals, Pachyderms
Indeed they are but each species in each section of the demolished areas will have their own exhibits the pangolins are far too special, and unique just to remove from the collection
