Since we have multiple threads on this site that relate to irritating and laughable statements made by typical zoo guests, I was interested in starting a thread where people can share the more intelligent statements they've heard. I say 'kids' because they are the ones that you wouldn't expect to hear random animal facts from children. I apologize if there is already a thread for this. Last year I heard a child approximately at the age of 5, telling his grandmother how a bonobo is a human's closest relative. On one occasion I heard a little girl at around the age of 4 correcting her father that gorillas are apes, not monkeys. Without him reading the sign, I heard an 8 year old boy correct his mother on the fact that okapis are related to giraffes, not zebras.
