    I was rereading the last issue of Brookfield's Gateways and apparently the zoo still has 'ownership' of it's Kiwi birds as part of it's collections, and they are considered on loan.

    I wonder if this means they may return to Brookfield at some point in the future.

    Memphis has had them on and off for several years. A chick was hatched in 2012, but I don't know if any are still there.

    I would be interested to know all of the places in the U.S. that keep them; there is an SSP for them, but they are off-display at most facilities so it's hard to say where they are and how many there are.
