Ussuri the tiger involved in the biting incident will stay on exhibit. Apparently the meat the keeper was feeding him got stuck in the fence and she went to flick it and it was bad timing. Theres been 3 other incidents with tigers over the years at the zoo. Yes, the zoo's plan to downsize in terms of acres was announced a couple of months ago. I would point out though, from when I visited the zoo a couple years back, this doesn't mean a downsize in terms of its collection. From when I visited, I remember there was a lot of walking room between exhibits and that each stop had 3 or 4 animals to see and then you'd be off to the next place. The new layout reminds of Como Park Zoo in St. Paul, where it is much more compact and you turn around and you are at another exhibit. Like you said their is three plan's, I personally like number one, from just looking at the maps, as it seems to keep a more international focus in its collection.
