A Swellshark, sired by parthogenesis, hatched at the aquarium. It is the first hatch of this species in europe.

The import was already confirmed by the zoo itself.

Leipzig and India are going to start a cooperation program to improve animals husbandry in indian zoos and to enhance chances of self-supporting ex-situ zoo populations. India will arrange a sloth bear studbook with the help of Leipzig.

Further imports will be possible in future.
